Anderson County Public Works Department reported the following projects:
Building and Codes
• Due to the condition of the existing road and run-off issues, a Stop-Work-Order has been placed on a portion of the Avendell Subdivision until further notice. DHEC has also been contacted to address the overall stormwater compliance. The builder is in correspondence with the Developer to help address these issues

Anderson County Public Works Department reported the following projects underway during the week of June 7:
Building and Codes
1. Met with Development Standards to review plans submitted for new Single-Family Dwellings located within a PD (Planned Development). Plans were approved and permits to be issued accordingly
2. PERMITS SUBMITTED: 36 New Single-Family Dwelling and 9 Addition-Renovation;8 Detached Garage/Accessory Building; 6 Poultry Houses; 4 Demolition; 7 Swimming Pools; 136 Permits issued for Electrical and HVAC Upgrades which includes 18 Solar Panel Installations; 15 Solar Panel Installation; 10 Commercial Including: Comfort Inn Restaurant Shell, McCullough Mini Warehouse, Beltline Storage Building 1 Addition, Beltline Storage Building 2, Beltline Storage Building 3, Beltline Storage Building 5, Electrical for Entrance Lights to Tree Farm, HVAC Change-out at St. Lukes Catholic Church, Electrical Meter Repair to Flat Rock Presbyterian Church, Commercial Kitchen Hood Installation; 22 Mobile Home including: New Homes, Change of Ownership, moves from other counties, change of location, etc.

Anderson County Public Works Department reported the following projects underway across Anderson County during the last week of May:
Building and Codes
1. Phase II of our demolition plan is complete. A total of 6 substandard structures were demolished. We continue to make progress on cleaning these properties up within the County
2. Plan Review Staff Meetings: 1) Met with representatives from the Town of Belton to discuss up-fitting the existing Belton Armory Building. Since this building has been used as a multi-function building, only Mechanical plans for the new HVAC system and electrical for new service upgrade will be required to be submitted for review and permitted accordingly

Phase II of our Substandard Housing Demolition Plan has been awarded to Wilma’s Pump & Tank Company. This includes 4 Substandard Structures located at: 1) 103 Cassandra Turn, 2) 124 Oakdale Road, 3) 2926 Chambers Road 4) 3018 South Main Street. We continue to make progress in cleaning up these dilapidated structures thanks to County Council

Department Manager attended a Community Meeting at Orville Baptist Church to discuss the process of Substandard Housing Enforcement. We also discussed the progress the County has made over the past 3 years demolishing homes within the area and in Anderson County as a whole. The Petition of Complaint for Substandard Housing and our Tall Grass Complaint Forms were handed out for future use.

Due to State Inspector Registration requirements as outlined by the SC Building Codes Council, we are going to have to replace one of our Building Inspectors. Permitting/Inspections continues to be strong and this leaves us in a position to have to use other staff to off-set this, which in turn may affect other duties. We hope to have a replacement as soon as possible
