Strikes parked vehicle – Hwy. 20

Power line down – Old River Road

Piedmont firefighters block Old Pelzer Road Tuesday night after a large truck ripped power and cable TV lines down and apparently left the scene. A pole was also broken during the incident. Power company trucks along with cable TV workers responded. Old Pelzer Road near Rhodes Road was closed for several hours as repairs were made. Several homes were also without power. Piedmont woman dies in mobile home fire

A Piedmont woman perished in a house fire early Wednesday morning, according to Piedmont Fire Chief Tracy Wallace.

Sandra Frazier, 66 years old, was found in the living room of her mobile home at 8 River Street at approximately 1:05 a,m, Wednesday morning (Agu. 12). A neighbor made the 911 call after seeing flames coming from the house. The firefighters immediately removed Frazier from the house and began emergency care, but she was deceased. The coroner later declared her dead at the scene, but no official cause of death has been released at this time.

Hwy. 20 fatality

Pelzer EMS along with Piedmont firefighters work at the scene of a fatal accident on SC 20 Friday afternoon. A Honda was traveling south when the driver apparently crossed the center line and struck a Jeep head on. The driver of the Honda, Robert Harold Cocker, 53, of Belton died at the scene according to Greenville County Chief Deputy Coroner Mike Ellis. The driver of the Jeep was not injured and a passenger of the Jeep suffered minor injuries. (Photo by David Rogers)
