One injured – River Road

Wren firefighters responded to a vehicle crash Friday morning (June 2) on River Road in Piedmont. A Honda Accord was traveling north when it ran off the road and flipped over after running into a ditch. Pelzer EMS transported one person to the hospital with minor injuries. Traffic was reduced to one lane while crews were on scene. The South Carolina Highway Patrol is investigating the crash. (Photo courtesy Codie Sloan)

Powdersville Apartment Fire

Powdersville, Wren, West Pelzer, and Three and Twenty firefighters responded to an apartment fire at Heritage Trace Apartments off Highway 153 in Powdersville just before 6:30 a.m. Thursday morning, June 1. Pelzer EMS also responded. According to Powdersville Fire Chief the fire was contained to one building and no one was hurt or injured. The fire was in the roof and the roof collapsed. Eight apartments are in the unit that caught fire which remains under investigation. The Red Cross was on scene working with apartment complex management to move residents who were affected by the fire.

Several vehicles involved – I85 & Hwy. 86

The Wren Fire Department responded to a multi-vehicle crash Sunday on I-85 North at Hwy 86. The accident happened around 12:50 pm. A Ford pickup truck was turned on its passenger side against the center wall. There was significant damage to the drivers side of the truck, and other vehicles involved. Left lanes of I-85 North were blocked while crews were on scene. One person was taken to the hospital with injuries by Pelzer EMS. The South Carolina Highway Patrol is investigating. Inspects motorcycle accident

Strikes culvert and mailbox – Hwy. 86

Motorcycle hits ambulance – Hwy. 8 & 81

No injuries – Hwy. 86

Tractor Trailer rear ended on I85

A pickup truck rear ended a tractor trailer Monday night on I-85 near the Highway 86 exit. The driver of the tractor trailer was not injured. The driver of the pickup walked away from the scene. Pelzer EMS and Wren fire department responded to the wreck. (Photo by David Rogers)

No injuries – Old River Road
